Hi 3CX Team

We have a training organisation that is very interested in using the 3CX Web Meeting component to hold training sessions with customers, however currently the video feed allows all participants to see each other as well as the meeting host.

The client would like an option to only allow the meeting host to see all participants video and prevent participants from seeing each other.

Is this currently possible? If not, how long would it take for this option to be made available?

Thanks,

Rob

Hi,

This is an existing feature that can freely be used in WebMeeting. This is also how we hold our Webinars on the 3CX Training page.

If you go to the 3CX Client, create a new meeting and go to settings, you will see all the relevant options for your meetings such as:
-Disable Participant's Video, Audio and chat by default
-Disallow Participants from enabling their video/audio
-Hide each participant from viewing each other in the participant panel

Thank you for the response.

I have created a web meeting from the 3CX for Windows client, this opens a web link in Chrome, but I can not see a settings option to select.

Could you please advice more information as to where this settings option can be found?

Hi, these options are not located in the 3CX WebMeeting UI. They are located inside the 3CX Client for Windows during meeting creation. While you are creating a meeting, there's a little gear icon on the bottom left that indicates "Settings". Clicking this will give you the settings you need.

Let me know how it goes.

So "hiding names" will hide their video from others?
What exactly does disable video do? please clarify.

Hi Leonidas

Thank you for the detailed information, I can now see where the settings are configured for a meeting.

However, the main criteria for customer is that they must be able to see all participants, but not allow the participants to see each other.

Is this possible?

If not currently possible, is this something that can be added as an option or manually configured somehow?

Thanks,

Rob

Unfortunately no. When video is enabled, everyone can see everyone.
There is no workaround to this. Also we have no plan in our roadmap to add this functionality for the moment.

It's obviously a good feature to have, but we are busy with things like Click2Call and Call2Meet and many other features with igher priority.

Thanks for the updated info. I was confused by the images someone else uploaded which pointed to step 5 - "Hide Names"...
Maybe after Click2x is done and some other things- the requested feature can be added. Would be really helpful and replace other services I am using.

There is a large market for this feature with training organisations who require visual recognition of user participation for proof of attendance.

We have had a number of enquiries for this feature so far.

It would be great if this feature could be added soon so that we can tap into this market and sell 3CX to more customers.

Thanks

Rob
