The ability to edit the BLFs on a phone from the webclient is a great idea, but it's lacking in features. The Call Parking dropdown is missing for some reason. Another disadvantage is the user can update their buttons, but then the only option to push the changes to the phones is to reboot them, which is not ideal when they're using the passthrough ethernet cord to their PC (not to mention reprovisioning the phone takes seconds, and doesn't cause any downtime, where rebooting the phone takes minutes, and does). So we gave the users access to edit their own extension only, and they can now add shared parks, but they still have no option to reprovision the phone. I feel like the webclient should automatically send a reprovision request to the server, or we should have the ability for the user to see their own phone in the Phones tab if we give them access to the management console.

Regarding the "Shared Parking" option missing from the BLF drop-down list, make sure that the extension in question has the "Can Park Calls" right enabled in the Management Console under "Extensions >> Edit >> Rights".

Regarding re-provisioning, do note that there are some IP Phones that actually allow the user to update the configuration through the deskphone's on-screen menu. If this is not available for the devices being used, I'm afraid that the only other three options are, instructing the IP Phone to reprovision via the 3CX Management Console, rebooting the device, or waiting for its next auto-reprovision schedule(usually set to reprovision every 24 hours).

as I understand it, if you update the buttons from the phone screen, it doesn't update 3cx BLF settings, so they get wiped out with provisioning.

That is absolutely correct, sorry if I wasn't clear. I meant that you can force the phone to automatically reprovision via the on-screen menu and therefore update any settings from the config server, not to actually configure BLF keys or any other settings from the phone.

But again, whether this would be possible or not depends on the device being used.

Ok thanks, I misunderstood, I'll see if the GXP2170 has this option.

This fixed that, thank you. It's a little counterintuitive, as the "allow parking option" under rights is for the dial code parking orbit option, not the traditional designated SP1, SP2 slots assigned as BLFs.

Using Parking Orbit actually cannot be prevented as it involves simply transferring a call to a parking room which for the IP Phone is just another number. What the "Can Park Calls" right affects is the ability to park calls via the 3CX Client's Switchboard and the ability to add Shared Parking as a BLF key to the user's IP phone from the 3CX Webclient/Windows App. That said, if the IP Phone has the Shared Parking BLF key already provisioned to it, the user will still be able to use it regardless of the "Can Park Calls" right status.

I appreciate the clarification on that, thank you
