When using webclient with Chrome browser the microphone level gets auto adjusted to 100% all the time.

This is really annoying as the other party can hear all the noises in the room and really not workable if more than one person in the room is talking.

As far as I understood this is a major problem with Google Chrome browser.

Looked at a various forums but no solution so far.

Does anyone experience a similar problem.

Any workaround will be a relief as this becomes a major problem for our organization.

If Chrome changes it there will not be much you can do. Perhaps you may be able to lock the mic gain using the software that came with your headset (if it has this) or using a 3rd party app that locks the gain.

Well, this is a major flow for the 3CX webclient.

It is pity, as everything else is really amazing and forward thinking but it gets destroyed buy such a simple problem coming from Chrome.

Hope a solution will be found soon.

Hello @andan ,

Lets first clarify something. This is not a case that is known issue for Web Client. Something specific to your setup is triggering this behavior. If you try to use the microphone on other Web based applications that utilize the microphone, ideally you should get the same behavior as on Web Client.

If you try on a different clean PC do you get the same behavior?
Do you use a specific headset? 3rd party application on your PC that controls Microphone?

Hi @Constantinos Constantinou,

I am not saying this is a Web Client problem, rather it is a very well known Chrome problem.

As the Web Client is optimized mostly for Chrome, well and Edge which is based on Chromium e.g same problem expected to surface there as well.

I am having 3cx web client deployed on about 30 workstations, different age and specs but the problem is present on every single one of them.

No 3rd party applications are controlling the mic on these PCs.

One clarification - the problem does not exists if I use 3CX Windows client on any of these workstations.
At the moment I switch to web client via Chrome - boom 100% again.

The only common software installed on these workstations is TeamViewer Host and Bitdefender Endpoint.

Different brands headsets used as well - all wired with mini jack connector.

I quick update from just now:

Seems like the problem appears only with the wired headsets.

I just tested a Bluetooth headset on a PC where I had a problem with the wired one and all was fine.
