WebConf: localhost.localdomain unusable for email

I am using "localhost.localdomain" email addresses on my system for testing purposes. I notice that the WebConf module blocks entering that kind of email address as "invalid email address". Can this kind of email validation be removed ? localhost.localdomain email addresses work well in the other modules (email, webmail etc.).
