Hello,

We are using 3CX Enerprise with private MCU, since webmeetings are very important to us. However we've faced several issues during their deployment:

- Major issue: iOS Webmeeting App stops working when switched to foreground or phone goes to lockscreen mode. Any other meeting solution supports background mode in iOS app, but 3cx does not. It annoys iOS and iPad users and makes them keep out of 3cx by all means. They can't join webmeetings on the go, in the car, etc. And when users use main 3cx app (not webmeeting), it works in foreground, but supports just audio conferencing, no screen sharing or video.

- Webmeetings are not supported in Safari. As 90% of our employees use Macs, it's also very annoying to them, since many of them refuse even to install Chrome.

- Main 3cx iOS app stops working after 7 days and user goes offline. I've seen an explanation here saying that it is because of Apple limitation of push registration period, but all other apps don't have this issue. You can call me to Whatsapp even after one month of not launching Whatsapp application. But not 3cx. This causes employees to use other methods of calling, rather then asking each other to relaunch 3cx.

Are there any chance for these issues of being solved in the near future? It would be perfect if all webmeetings were integrated into the main 3cx app, with support of background mode, all OSes, screen sharing and video. And also they should work in Safari. I hope I won't have to look for another webmeeting solution.

This should be solved a while back (16.1.7.75). It does drop if the phone reboots, e.g., when iOS updates, or I think if the app updates.

Yeah this is a known issue with the app. We'll look into fixing it.

Unfortunately those employees will have to use a WebRTC compatible browser like Chrome if they want to use this solution. Safari is the most restrictive browser out there meaning it simply doesn't play well with WebRTC.

It seems not to be working. iOS users keep becoming offline and others stop using 3cx and call them with WhatsApp or whatever else. And I can't understand what is wrong with push notifications in 3cx? I keep receiving pushes from very old apps which I was not using for a year or so, they survived multiple updates and reboots.

Perhaps it's possible to send just notification push in this case (you have missed a call, tap to call back), if real-time push call notifications are not possible? These type of pushes definetely should work forever as seen many times in other apps.

Safari definitely supports WebRTC and it works in other webmeeting solutions, e.g. Zoom Web App, Microsoft Meetings, etc. And since it is "most restrictive" and because of its security, many people prefer to use it for work tasks. Any plans to support it?

Probably a native Mac web meeting application could help, but it should support all features. Current iOS/iPad app doesn't even allow to login and join non-anonymously. It also doesn't allow screen sharing which is the most important during our meetings. Any plans to improve this in the future?

Eager to get this, thank you for info. Since all iOS user claim current Webmeeting app is unusable and demand a better solution.

On your phone? There's only one 3CX mobile app.

If you mean "must type something in to the name field" that's up to the user to decide what to type.

Possibly, are you clicking the meeting organizer link instead of the attendee link?

Edit:

Code:
Below is the report for your completed meeting, MeetingName:

I mean there are other apps (not 3cx) which I didn't run for a long time, probably years, just forgot to delete them. And they still keep sending some advertisement pushes occasionally. These pushes still come even after I restore a backup on a new phone and never run that app there (!). And if I click on that push (just checked) - the app opens and shows its info. Can this be implemented in 3CX mobile app too?

For example, when real-time push expires you can send such one to inform user that someone is trying to call him. So the callee could click that push, relaunch 3CX mobile app and receive the call.

I've checked clicking organizer link, it really opens mobile web meeting app, but it still doesn't have any ability of screen sharing and background mode is not working. I mean if that was working, such full-featured app could be a replacement of Chrome on macs, since mobile iOS apps run perfect on them.

I suppose running web meetings in the "main" mobile app is complicated since 3CX web meetings run on different server.

However, this doesn't prevent both functions from working in Chrome on the same web page. Separated applications make users confused and upset.
