Webmeeting no video but webcam led is on.

Hi,

There is no video when i start a webmeeting session on my portable.
All system settings are ok, webcam works in other programs.
3cx settings in chrome are set to allow webcam and micro.

My webcam led lights on when i start a webmeeting but the small screen on the bottom if the screen stays grey.
3cx saves a greyed image when i click on the icon to take a image.

In the settings screen of webmeeting micro and webcam are available and recognized.
Test micro ok, but test video does not work, image stays grey.
As already said, the webcam led on my portable is on.

I see the others participants when i start a webmeeting.

Someone has a idee to solve this problem.

(My system, win10 with all updates on my portable and 3cx server v16 patch4.)

Hi Hans,

Can you do a check with another site by googling "check webcam online" ?

Remember, the site and webmeeting need to have permissions allowed to access camera

Hi John,

i tested with a few sites and became the same result. They find the webcam and report me all specs of it but no image.

I verified already if my system is up to date and this is the case.
I try to remove it and reinstall all drivers for the webcam and keep you informed.

Ok at least we know it it's not related to the Web Meeting session now.

Good luck with the tests, I would suggest to plug it into another PC too (if an external cam) and see if this happens elsewhere too.

Also in case you are using Windows 10 N edition, ensure that the Microsoft Media Feature Pack is installed as some media functions will fail without it (at least the built in windows Camera app).

Conclusion after searching for half a day to find a solution for my problem, there is no solution.
It seems to be a well known problem since one of the latest updates of chrome. A lot of people are talking about it on forums.

The good new is that i have found a solution. Use your ipad / iphone or android as a external webcam on your portable. Install on both sides programs that you can find in the following link iriun.com.
It is free and it works perfectly without any annoying publicity.

Don't forget to select this (virtual) webcam in the settings of webmeeting.

I just ran into this exact issue today as well. Unfortunately the workaround Hans described in which he used his mobile phone as a camera did not work for me. The problem is shown in the image below. Your image does not appear in the thumbnail image but, in my case, neither do the other participants. When you click on Settings and test your video, the camera works fine.

Hi Navarac,

strange, here it works flawless. Verify that your phone has a good wifi reception. I discovered yesterday that if you have a bad wifi connexion (between pc and phone) that the image disappears random and it takes sometimes between 5...30 seconds to establish the connexion again. It was even necessary to restart the iriun server and the client on the phone. Disable also on the phone 3g/4g to be sure that your phone don't switch between 3or4g and wifi. I had yesterday a webmeeting for almost 1.5 hour without any problem.

FYI I had the same issue - it looks like if you have input/microphone device disabled or its not found then 3CX will not enable video, it seems to require both enabled. So make sure your microphone is on and working as well.
