Hi All, Since i have upgraded to 15.5.3 my custom SMTP server seems to have been disabled
So i enabled the 3cx SMTP relay.

When i try to send a welcome email it just never arrives.

Now ive checked the logs
And im getting a denied error ?

Can someone clarify? or assist if they have had similar issues?

If you are using 3CX Standard (not Pro) then this is according to the feature list.

Version Comparison

As above std version you have to use 3cx smtp.

Make sure the 'External IP Configuration' matches your wan IP address, if not change it. external ip and fqdn must match to be able to send emails.

You can also try setting your IP to dynamic by navigating to Settings / Network and restarting the 3CX services. This will force the public IP to be updated in case it has changed for any reason.

Thanks for all the responses..
I understand the versioning issue.. and i changed it to the 3cx smtp .. this issue arose after the change was done so i assume its something with my WAN config.. will be changing this.

Will update you all!

It shouldn't have just disabled itself... yes, standard forces this behavior, but upgrades should continue to allow custom server.

Hi All,
After having to reinstall the client has lost capability of using custom SMTP server.. what an hassle.

Since the PBX was re-installed then you no longer have the ability to use a custom SMTP server with the standard licence. If a custom SMTP server is mandatory then you will need to upgrade the client to PRO.
