Please, I don't need to hear the warnings about how the database should not ever be touched and that even breathing on it or executing SELECTs on it will irreversibly break 3CX. No it won't, and no it doesn't if you are careful and know what you are doing (and you should be both of those if you are working with any database). CDRs do not have all of the data that we need to report on. I extract updated call data from 3CX every minute for calls that have ended into Power BI for custom reporting, but I would like to be able to understand some more information about the calls.

In table cl_participants, there are several columns:
- role
- end_status
- forward_reason
- failure_reason

What are the string labels for the numeric values in these columns? The role column is 1 or 2 for example. Is that caller and recipient perhaps? What about the others?

3CX,

It is 2020 and you need to get with the program and give your customers who want advanced access to their data the ability and documentation to do so. I would even pay more for a license add-on for an official blessing of a way to access my own data. I have 4 phone systems running on 3CX Pro licenses and I need to be able to run my own visualizations and analysis on how they are being used.

The information to connect to the postgres database is in text files in the installation folder and isn't that hard to find. Give us some documentation and guidance so that customers aren't left completely in the dark to figure things out on our own which is what in fact carries a higher risk of breaking something.

CDR records only contain a fraction of the call information that is available in the database. For those whose needs are met by CDR, well there is nothing wrong with that and they can stay out of the database. For those who are serious about our data - and let me be perfectly clear, it is OUR DATA - we are going to get it, all of it. I will dotPeek the assemblies to get the values of what some of the columns in these tables mean if I really have to spend my time doing that. Or 3CX can grow up and be helpful to their advanced customers instead of remaining silent. Unless of course they don't care about keeping those customers.
