Where has the v18 Windows Client Gone?

Hello,

We have 3CX V18 but our welcome emails only offer the v16 client - 3CXPhoneforWindows16.exe
Normally I would change the 16 to 18 but its now 404'ed
So I would then go into our Portal but it now only shows "16"
(v16) https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/3CXPhoneforWindows16.msi

What happened to the V18 client??

Hi @peter_sgc,

The V16 Windows Client works with V18 extension config files sent in the Welcome Emails. This is correct. The Windows Client, while still active will eventually be phased out in favour of the V18 Desktop App which is Downloadable from within the WebClient.

Thanks! I Found it in the WebClient.
Any reason it's not in the Download Section of the Portal with V16?

Hi @peter_sgc,

Yes, this is because the version of the Windows Client is v16.3.0.264 currently at the time of writing this. It doesn't mean that this download is specifically for a v16 PBX.

Also note that in v18, we now use the new Desktop App which can be downloaded, installed and provisioned via the Web Client (click the icon in the red circle here):
