I have a client that would like to utilize the whisper/barge/listen feature on their 3cx server.

They have 5 executives that provide coaching and monitoring at various times and these are the only users that should have access to these features. I see where to grant them rights, but the 5 executives don't want each other listening in on other executive calls.

Is there a way to restrict which extensions that users with whisper rights can listen in on? Apologies if this has been covered in a previous post, but I can't seem to find it.

Look at 3CX groups / rights - https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/pbx-extension-management/

Endusers can be members of more than one group

Create five groups with each executive the manager rights and add the endusers as user rights

Note : you need Pro or Ent license for these features.

Just to clarify, since you will be creating 5 different groups as follows:

1. All Users + Manager 1
2. All Users + Manager 2
3. All Users + Manager 3
4. All Users + Manager 4
5. All Users + Manager 5

It is true that Managers will not be able to see other managers calls as they are not in the same group. Do bear in mind however that if a Manager is on a call with another extension, other managers will be able to see that call and still perform the Barge-in action due to the fact that they have the permission to do so for one of the two parties of the call, in this case, the user extension.

Note: Do remember to disable the "Publish group information to all extensions" option in every group within the "Group Rights" tab.
