Hi,
We recently started using 3cx. Prior this we used FreePBX for calls and Chatwoot for messaging. We were excited to see we could do it all in one platform here. However, having gone through the process of buying equipment and setting this up, we starting the move away from chatwoot, migrating contacts etc. Then we realized we cannot initiate a whatsapp messages to any contact for any reason. I hit the forums here to see what I could find. 3CX reps are saying not possible and many customers are saying it is.

We were able to initiate WhatsApp chat in 2 other systems before we got here. However, initiating chats requires that you use a WhatApp Template. These templates can be configured in Facebook Business manager. Some platform like 360 Dialog even allow you to create the templated messages on their platform directly and send them to facebook over API. These have been incredeible useful for us, we could simply send a customer a template regarding, non payment etc. We even have template asking to customer to initiate a chat regarding xy issue.

I have uploaded screenshot of what this looks like on other platforms. I am a developer myself and having gone through the documentation for the WhatsApp API. I can't think of a reason this would not be possible. Adding to that everyone else seem to have the option.

I am hoping someone can shed some light here. I can see WhatsApp was added here a while ago, so maybe its a product limitation with 3CX and the devs can't add new things?

I think the ifnormation can be useful for anyone as confused as I am.
