Why no integrated CRM?

I have used a lot of PBX platforms and I am not sure why there's such a lacking of CRM options with 3CX. There seems to be some native contact management, adding name/company/business/etc. but no wrap up codes, no notes. All of this is standard on almost all platforms I've ever used, but we're expected to use an external CRM for this purpose even though it's not much different than the integrated contact addition already built into the platform?

I've looked around the forums and it looks like wrap up codes have been asked for time and time again and the only answer is to use an external CRM (even though in V20 there's no option to automatically open an external CRM). Why is 3CX SO resistant to the idea of implementing something as simple as a wrap up code? I don't need all the other features (or costs) of an external CRM, just a simple (very simple) wrap up code per call. What if I want a report on how many "no customer on the line" calls we had? I am just baffled at 90% of the functionality we need as an organization is there, but the 10% that isn't is becoming more and more of a deal breaker.

We provide the choice to use any CRM platform of your choosing.

With the CRM integration a customer can keep a journal of all interactions with their customer, including a link to the recording, the transcription, and summary of each call.

As many businesses already have a CRM in place with all their metrics, it makes sense to use the CRM integration. Why reinvent the wheel?

There absolutely is. We use this all the time with built-in integrations and custom ones.

Because it's added costs? Adding in extra systems to potentially fail? Why bother with any features if you can just have a separate system?

Sure, you can setup a link, but no auto open. Unless you mean something custom.

It definitely can auto-open the CRM link. We use that all the time.

Sounds like you complain before even trying.

Why would 3CX, a COMMUNICATION system, act as a CRM? Just get yourself a real CRM or use a different PBX.

This is weird hostility that doesn't actually provide anything helpful.
