We purchased some Fanvil V65s because of their WiFi support and the requirements of some of our remote users. We are unable to provision the phones via WiFi. I see from this thread that 3CX does not support or recommend WiFi devices. Does anyone have a positive experience with any of the phones connecting via WiFi? How have you outfitted your remote workers who do not have access to Ethernet? Thanks!

Try provisioning while plugged in, then enable wireless. I've done that with Yealink phones...can't remember offhand if it was normal phones also, or just because they were router phones (to be portable).

3CX doesn't support wireless because of the inherent instability of weak wireless signals. If your wireless is good you should be OK.

Thanks. Does the MAC for provisioning in 3CX need to be changed to the WiFi MAC Address?

In my case I didn’t change anything after the initial provisioning.

I would provision with wired ethernet MAC. Have done it regularly on Grandstream.

Just manually enable wifi and disconnect ethernet after provisioning has been done.

That does not seem to work on Fanvil. Will explore other hardware.

Yealink supported phones that have wifi (unsupported feature) work great. Connect to network with wifi and provision. Can even use sbc phones, just don’t route other phones behind it. T53w, T54w etc. have also used t46u with wifi dongle. Make sure you have good wifi and remember it’s not officially supported.

As @CentrexJ mentioned WiFi connections are not supported. However many of the community members have successfully provisioned. Keep in mind that WiFi disconnections can cause issues and it is recommended to use the ethernet for stability.

Thanks for the feedback - the Yealink T54W just works, no problem. Registered it on Ethernet then switched to Wi-Fi and all good. We will switch everything over from Fanvil to Yealink.

You are welcome ;)
