hi, running cloud free version with a raspberry pi running locally as an sbc with two ip phones and two users running 3cx app

we'd like to use our existing panasonic cordless DECT handsets (instead of ip phones), was thinking of getting a grandstream ht801 and connecting it to the base station

1) any gotcha's in this scenario that we will come across please?

2) i assume the ht801 can connect via the sbc same as the ip phones?

PS We do have a secondary problem... if we put the all 4 users in the same ring group, incoming calls keeps ringing on the 3cx app even if we pick up the call on one of the ip phones?

Are you using supported phones and templates? Are the apps up to date?

Regarding the ht801, it should work OK.

oh ok, the phones are older ones, used to be supported

i'll get the ht801 and replace the both of the phones with the dect base unit and one of the extensions, see if that resolves the issue with the 3cx app

thanks for the info on the ht801 and the dect phones, always worth getting feedback before purchasing things

PS if it does, will purchase a supported router phone and replace the pi with it

If its those Panasonic ones, the HT801 will not work in this case. They are SIP based, and the HT801 only accepts analog-based phones.

Look into Yealink W70B instead https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-dect-phones/
This is Yealink's entry level DECT base and can handle 10 handsets.
They also have various handset types, including rugged ones.

the panasonic is an old standard dect base station with an analogue phone lead

Now that i know about the yealink, i would def have choosen the W70B over the ht801/panasonic, simpler always being better

But the phone is going into a "working kitchen" and not an office... the ht801 can be hidden away and dect phone easier/cheaper to replace if damaged
