Problem: Today I had the Situation that - after restarting my Laptop - the 3CX soft phone app would start up normally and also would ring when somebody was calling me but the app itself was not positioned within the visible part of my 4K Screen and was not visible.

No known method (like selecting the app in the taskbar and pressing Windows Key + Arrows) would allow me to bring back the app into the visible part of my Screen.

Solution:
1) Shutdown (kill) the app via Task Manager

2) Press the Windows + R key and enter in the field: Notepad %appdata%\3CXPhone for Windows\3CXPhone.xml

3) Edit the following two lines, so that both lines contain the number 100:
<MainWindowLeft>100</MainWindowLeft>
<MainWindowTop>100</MainWindowTop>

4) Save and close the file.

5) Start 3CX soft phone. The app should now be visible in the upper left part of your screen.

Hope this helps somebody.

With Kind regards,

John

thanks solved my problem!!

Sometimes it's enough press Alt+Space and use "Move" dialog.

We've actually fixed this issue in the upcoming SP2 for the V15.5 3CX PhoneSystem. Keep an eye out on the blog for when this comes out as this should completely resolve the issue.

Hi Leonidas,

I had this issue today again with a 3cx Windows Phone (15.5.3.3849.1) - so it is not - or not completely fixed.

Situation was the following:

Old Installation of a 3cx phone for windows (version unknown) on a Windows 7 which I today upgraded to Windows 10.

Over-Installed the newest 3CX windows phone client (V15.5.3.3849.1) over the old 3cx phone for windows.

Started up the 3cx phone. App was not visible. When I checked the MainWindowsLeft value, it still had a value which was over the possible screen resolution.

Manually changing this to 100 did the trick as usual.

With kind regards,

John Ranger

Hi, SP2 is not out yet. Try again once it's out.
