Hello,

We are using Windows Client 16.3.0.179 and 3CX Server 16.0.6.655
The 3CX server is hosted in Cloud.

The Windows Client seems to crash after a connection to a VPN (gateway change), or connection failures.

When this is occuring, the Client stay in reconnecting state most of case, sometime it seems connected but no way to do a call and other users do not see it online.

Most of cases, exiting the app and lauching it again do not resolve the problem, the client stay in the previous state. The only way is to reboot the computer.

Do you have a solution to improve the stability ?
Is there another way to resolve without reboot ?

Sincerely.

Hi,

No, you have to make sure the VPN is connected before you launch the app.

If you forgot, then simply exit and relaunch the 3CX app

Like I said, relaunch the app in most of case is not enough, the app hang in reconnecting.
The VPN is connected as demand with clients, we are a IT team, the 3CX app launch at startup.

There is no other way than restart the computer ?
Do you plan to patch the app to avoid this issue ?

Sincerely.

What VPN are you using?

You could make a task that runs on event ID trigger.

When VPN connects find the event ID and then have it run the 3CX app.

If this does not work, then it may come down to the type of VPN used, type of VPN client used, and how that specific VPN implements traffic routing and DNS on the client end (the PC).

Not sure exactly how yours does it but then again the 3CX app doesn't really care: it will attempt to resolve your FQDN and then attempt to connect over whichever route the OS gives it. If this leads nowhere, it will end up behaving just like your described above because it relies on the connection your OS provides and cannot bypass any restrictions the VPN may impose

The VPN is most of time Stormshield VPN (openVpn based).
The VPN change the default gateway.
The VPN do not restrict the usage of VOIP (or 3cx), il works as expected when 3cx is launched after the VPN.
