However being admin I can always login as user (can have fresh credencials), so protecting prov link against admin makes no sense.
Also QR code gives me this option as well - doesnt it ?

As the admin, yes, be still things like this can be misplaced. That brings me back though to your observation, that this is a workaround, not an intended way of using the QR.
