Wrong Call Progress Tone - v15.5.344.492 via WiFi

When calling between extensions we hear the wrong call progress tone.

For outbound calls we sometimes hear the correct tone, and sometimes the incorrect one.

I think the 3CX Android client is incorrectly configured to play the wrong call progress tone, but I can't find where to change it.

Any suggestions?

I believe that this has been going on for quite a while. Even on the older versions, until audio was cut-through, you'd receive a "UK type" (double ring) ringback tone. I'm not certain that it can be changed yet or not.

If you receive ring back tone as early media (SIP 183), then your 3CX app will play what ever received from remote end.

If you receive SIP 180 , ringing . Then 3CX client will locally generate ring back tone and play that for you.

So it depends on for each call whether you receive 180 and 183
and what type of ring back you receive with 183 (SDP)

So it sounds like there is no way to configure which tone is locally generated when SIP 180 is received?

Is this a feature we can request for the next release of the client?

3CX Support early media by default , If a remote party sends (eg: SIP trunk provider) early media (SIP 183 instead of 180 in most cases)including ring back tone or progress / notification of the call status, 3CX will play caller

If SIP trunk provider sends SIP 180 Ringing Response back to 3CX. with out Early media SDP then 3CX will play default locally generated ring back tone,

If you want to disable early media support at 3CX level , you can do it via settings/parameters/custom
ENABLEEARLYMEDIA change value from 0 to 1
So 3CX will ignore remote party ring back and any other early media , and play default locally generated ring back tone, to callers
(Disable early media is not advisable, unless it is a must )

Most advanced SBC have a option just to manipulate ring back tones with out touching Early Media , I do not see 3CX has that level of control. better to have this option in 3CX next releases

Unless you use an SBC between 3CX and SIP trunk provider
