Wrong Names on phones

Hi so we're having this issue where the user names on the phones are wrong. We have logged into the program and have changed them on there and have clicked reprovision under the phones category, however the phones do not change the display name. Also, when we log off and back onto the program, the new correct names are still listed, but the phones still show the wrong names.

You do not mention what kind of phones... If I recall, this comes from the "Phone Book" that is downloaded to the phone which is comprised of the Extension List and the Contact List.
Did you reboot the phone perhaps? And, again, what kind of phone?

Cisco SPA509G. We have rebooted the phones, but they still show the wrong names

Unfortunately those are a limited support product.
Does the phone have a phonebook? Is the correct information in that?

This is for the extensions and there is nothing in the phonebook right now because we didn't see a place to add extensions in the phonebook

The phone book is created by 3CX on the fly. Did you set up phone book provisioning?

Do not think so. How is that done?

In 3cx - again automatically using the provisioning profile.
If no provisioning file for your legacy device, you need to figure out what the phone book is for your device.
Perhaps you can enter it manually: %%PROVLINKLOCAL%%/cisco_phonebook.xml
%%PROVLINKLOCAL%% = the IP and directory found here at Extension then phone tab... similar to
http://local.ip/provisioning/secret_directory/cisco_phonebook.xml

However, I can not say wether those devices will support it or not.
