Hello all,

a colleague informed me that he gets the wrong number displayed when the forwarding rule "Forward internal calls to my mobile" is active.

Our number format is 123456

Our main number is 1230

When forward to mobile is active the number 1230456 gets displayed on incoming calls on the mobile.

CLIP no screening is active on our SIP trunk.

Do you know hwat could cause the 0 to get inserted in the outbound number?

Kind regards
Martin

Hello @MH_INDUS,

Can you check what is set in the extension under Outbound Caller ID under General, that is forwarding to mobile?

Are you using a supported SIP Trunk provider, if so can you tell us which provider you're using to double check the templates?

Hello @VasilisV_3CX

Outbound Caller ID is set to 123456, the 0 is only added when forwarded to mobile

I am using peoplefone as SIP provider

Thanks for letting us know @MH_INDUS,

Can you confirm that the forward is set in the extension per status, or is it to ring the mobile simultaneously?

Can make the call again, and go to your dashboard, then Activity Log >> Filter >> Select the last call you made and search for remote-party-ID, check that the number before the @ symbol is correct.

Hello @VasilisV_3CX

the forward is set in the extension status, ring mobile simultaneously is off

I cant find the remote party-ID in the activity log. Here is a screenshot of the log. The call I picked up is not listed.
Maybe missing because logging is set to low?

Yes, please set the logging to verbose in Settings under Activity Log.

Please look at the entire invite to see what the PBX sent to your provider.

Hello @VasilisV_3CX

I called the colleague with verbose logging enabled, I could not find the remote-party-ID or anything useful in the verbose log.

But I found the invite in a packet capture.

The remote-party-ID shows the configured outbound number from my extension settings.

My guess then is, that the SIP provider changes that somewhere.

Hi @MH_INDUS,

If you are seeing that the correct information is being sent by the PBX to the SIP provider, I'd suggest contacting the SIP provider to follow up and see if they're changing anything along the way.

Hello @VasilisV_3CX,

I contacted Peoplefone with the issue and they said it is due to the internal number being displayed in the Remote-Party-ID in the [email protected]

So I made another capture directly dialing a mobile number instead of it being forwarded to mobile.

Below are screenshots for comparison.

When forwarded to mobile:

When dialing directly:

For the extensions in test, can you ensure that they have no Caller-ID set on the extension level and re-run the test?

Hello @VasilisV_3CX,

when I leave the outbound caller ID empty, the main Trunk number is used. (123456 0)

Thanks for the update @MH_INDUS, I've PM'd you and we'll follow up there.

After investigating, we found RMS was enabled. We will close this now.
