Hi,

I just bought one of these phones specifically because it was listed as being compatible with 3CX.

First thing I did was setup the phone in 3CX and I see "RPS request for Yealink CP920 IP Phone of New Phone (2000) delivered successfully" in my logs ok.

I then booted up the phone and updated the firmware using the firmware on this page: https://www.3cx.com/support/phone-firmwares/ and confirmed the installed firmware on the phone web interface: Firmware Version 78.81.0.15

My DHCP server provides the provisioning URL for the phone, so I followed the instructions and issued a factory reset. Following boot of the device, it mentions sending provisioning request, moves to updating configuration and then shows a message saying update skipped.

I ran through the same process again by setting the provisioning URL manually, but the behaviour is the same.

I can see by monitoring network traffic on my firewall that the phone is talking to my 3CX server (Via STUN setup since the server is external to the phone).

I'm now stuck in a loop and almost out of ideas for debugging. Does anybody have any ideas? Really frustrating that I've deliverately bought a support phone but having these issues.

Thanks.

Hello @leonp

Please make sure that the option "Disallow use of extension outside the LAN (Remote extensions using Direct SIP or STUN will be blocked)" is not enabled under extension settings.
Then try restarting the phone again and see if the phone asks for credentials. You do not need Option 66 since you are using RPS as the phone should communicate with the PBX and retrieve the provisioning link.
Try to factory reset the phone if you do not get prompted for username and password as the phone will only check the RPS server if it is factory reset.

If this also fails try to manually download the config file from the remote site using the provisioning link and the mac address of the phone.
for example: https://FQDN:5001/provisioning/XXXXXXXXXX/MAC_address.cfg
