Yealink phones can't register

We have 2 x Yealink T31P and 1 x Yealink T54s phones that can't register.

One of the TP31P phones did register (ext 107). And we have a Snom phone that registered, they're both working fine.

All phones have the same firmware etc.

The phones are on our local network, and we have an Amazon instance running 3cx.

I compared the working and non-working phones settings and they match (apart from MAC, IP and login details)

This system was working on v16, but the email went to someone who no longer works here and our configuration was removed from the 3cx portal. When I bought a new license it was only for version 20, which I've set up on the amazon server.

For example Ext 104 can't register, but in the 3cx event log I see 10029: "Provisioning file for MAC 249AD890F641 of user 104 requested by 110.143.67.82 was successfully generated" when I try to aut-provision

Please help!

Thanks Steve

Firmware on the T31Ps is 124.87.0.15

Firmware on the T54S is 70.84.0.160 downloaded from 3cx.

There's no software SBC - was this requirement that was added since v18?

I think I see the problem, none of our phones are capable as router phones.

We have 5 phones.

I can't see any settings in the 3cx admin console, or the phones, about SBC.

Yealink has looked at a diagnostics capture from a phone and has said "the account register failed because the server does not respond to the phone's register signal"

V20 does not support STUN without a custom phone template. Easiest path is to set up an SBC which the phones use to connect out to the server. Then the phones will be in 3CX under the PnP button.

Thanks. We're wondering if it might be easier to buy a router phone. We don't have a server in the office or on the local network.

I'm okay with editing XML so I'd be comfortable creating a custom phone template. I had a look at the 3cx docs but look like it's not recommended.

Though all the phone models do show up in the drop-down when I add them to a user under IP Phone, so they have templates (?)

We have the amazon instance running 3cx admin, can't it be the SBC? I'm still unclear why we need two servers to run five phones

Thanks for your help!

The SBC can run on Windows 11 or a Debian VM. Or a Pi. It securely proxies the connection. It has to be on the network with the phones. I recommend its IP doesn’t change.

Yes custom templates are not supported, I meant to say that.

Hello,

Getting a router phone or installing an SBC on any machine you happen to have available is by far the recommended way.

You can also per-user unblock non-tunnel phone connectivity in the User's Options, but this weakens the overall security of the system.

Best,
KS.
