I am trying to add an IP Phone to an extension and after entering the mac address, selecting our SBC the wizard goes back to the MAC address and says it is already in use.

We do not use the Yealink RPS services. I have verified that the MAC address is NOT listed in our list of phones. Adding a brand new phone works without issues. Configuring the phone manually works as well, but this is not the desired setup.

Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Login to the phone and confirm you are using the correct MAC
  2. Export users to confirm you did not add that MAC to another user.

Log in as a system owner, search the MAC in the "Users" page.

You can also go to Phones > PnP > Select the phone from there and assign it. If it is already on a specific extension, it will say which one currently owns it.

Although I did the search the phone did not come up.

I did resolve this by accident. I found it was added as a secondary phone to a user.

Mystery is why the phone did not appear in any searches...
