Hi all,

We are in the process of testing 3CX and probably going to migrate our phone solution to 3CX.
The web-client and phone app work great. But i also wanted to test a desktop phone.

I have a new, out of the box, Yealink T54W. I added it to a user thru the web app admin. Set it as router phone. entered the MAC address, and then plugged in the phone.
The phone was recognised correctly and was provisioned. But......

I think it was provisioned with the wrong credentials somewhere. Because after provisioning, the phone didn't register correct and our office IP-address got blocked!

So my questions are:
- Is my assumption correct that the phone was provisioned with wrong credentials?
- What are the correct credentials to use? the ones in the "ip phone" tab under Auth ID / Password?
- Why did it not provision with the correct credentials?

Now we have to wait for the ip-ban to be lifted before we can try again :-(

You didnt follow the manual. The phone is on the false firmware. You need to be on x.74

Hi Martin and welcome to 3CX.

- Is my assumption correct that the phone was provisioned with wrong credentials?
No - but I'm fairly certain that you used the phone with the firmware that came out of the box which doesn't include the router function so the phone will provision at first, but then fail to register.

You can follow our guide here and upgrade your firmware to the required version: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/yealink-t5-series/

You don't need to change anything in 3CX, but once the correct firmware is installed you will need to factory reset the phone.

Let me know when this is done and we can take it from there.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I indeed think the firmware is the problem. My apologies for that.
I assumed that the phone needed to be on 96.86.0.74 or above. But it has to be on that version specifically.
I just uploaded the correct firmware, double checked it, and did a factory reset of the phone.
I will wait for you confirmation and else i'll try again on monday.

Hi Martin,

Go ahead and reboot the phone now please, and give it 2 mins. to come up.

Let me know if it works now.

Hi John,
