I recently upgraded a Yealink T56A to 58.83.0.25 which was labeled as a maintenance release.
I noticed that it was losing reg, and suddenly showing up as a new phone in 3CX - dug around and decreased the SIP re-register timer. Didn't help... Decided to log into it again via the web UI and couldn't reach / couldn't even ping it.

It remains powered via 2 different injectors I've tried, but keeps falling off the network. The only way to get it talking again is to power cycle it.
I am local to the phone, and the phone is local to 3CX.

Thoughts?

Hi @cparker_RCT

How is the phone provisioned in relation to the PBX? Did you also select "Local" ?

How about reset and reprovision after the update?

Yes, it is set to local. And I have factory reset it twice after the update.
I have a W52P DECT Basestation that appears to be maintaining reg just fine.

How about installing the phone on a different LAN port, one currently in use by a phone that works well?

It's hanging off of a mini switch -> PoE injector due to where it needs to be, and no other devices on that mini switch seem to be having issues but I shall give that a go... I can test it right on the PoE switch it used to live on before being moved.

Good idea, sometimes if the PoE is not what the phone expects it may cause instability.

Testing directly on a PoE switch that is known to be good, should show us if it is related to power or otherwise

@JohnS_3CX Seems that leaving it on the PoE switch has it behaving. I checked the rated output of the injectors vs the draw the switch reports, and it should be more than plenty. Weird... Well at least I don't have to chase packet captures and other annoying stuff!

Good to know! Originally you said it remains powered by two different injectors, and that could potentially be point to look at. Devices will negotiate their power requirement with the PoE source so I'm not sure if this is causing some trouble in your case with two in-line injectors.

I should have been more clear, I tried two different injectors to rule out if it was the cause.

No problem, hope it remains stable on the current port!
