Hi,

I have an on premises 3CX (16.0.9). It is installed on a Windows PC on site and has been running for some time with no previous issues. I am trying to provision a new Yealink T57W that is connected to the network using wifi.

The phone is connected to the network OK but not appearing on the Phones page as all previous phone have. I can web browse to the phone from the 3CX server itself. If I try to auto provision the phone by entering the URL and press Auto Provision Now it quickly says Operation Completed but it hasn't provisioned (phone hasn't even rebooted).

The only way I can get the phone connected is by manually entering the SIP logon details for the extension but it doesn't properly provision that way with BLF etc so I want to do it properly.

Any ideas if there is something we may be doing wrong? We have installed plenty of these without an issue but the last couple of weeks we do seem to be getting a lot more provisioning issues so I wasn't sure if something in a recent update may have changed something.

TIA

Hi Paul,

We do not support provisioning any phones over WiFi (even if the device itself has the capability).

You're not doing anything wrong, we just don't support nor recommend WiFi connectivity for deskphones.

What you can do is perhaps try and provision it over LAN normally, and then switch to WiFi, keeping in mind that this is still unsupported should any issues arise.
