Hello all,

I recently purchased and began to provision a Yealink T58W desk phone that was Amazon Renewed and arrived in brand new condition. I logged into the phone admin through typing the phones IP address into the web browser search bar and after I provisioned it to link with 3CX, my extension was blacklisted. The phone background changed to the 3CX logo and I am no longer able to access the admin of the phone to factory reset it.

It has been about 2 weeks now and my extension is still blacklisted. Can anyone assist me with the steps required to get my extension of the blacklist, and perhaps why it was blacklisted in the first place?

Thank you.

What is the firmware level of the T58W? And are you adding it as a router phone?

Hello Charles,

Yes the phone was being set as a/the router phone.

Firmware: 150.86.0.5
Firmware ID: 202111261028

Thank you.

Can you please double-check the firmware it should be 150.86.0.51
https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/

Yes I see. The firmware does say exactly:

Firmware: 150.86.0.5

From my understanding, I can update the firmware through the admin panel of the phone. When I provisioned it to connect to 3CX, I used the Username: admin and Password: admin through the web browser interface.

This worked successfully, now, after provisioning the phone when I go to login, the username and password admin does not work.

From my understanding, 3CX changes the login credentials once the phone is linked, however, my admin extension is blacklisted so I am unable to login to view the credentials.

What steps should I proceed forward with?

Thank you Charles.

I suggest factory resetting the IP phone, logging in as admin, and upgrading the firmware to the required version.

Then once access the system after 24 hours, when the blacklist clears, remove the IP phone form the user and re-add it back.

What Charles said, but using old firmware can trigger a block especially if you're setting it up as a router phone.

Adding a phone to 3CX sets a password, visible in the 3CX console on the phone properties. In v18 it is under "Phone Web Page Password" on the Phone Provisioning tab.

If you unplug the phone you can wait 24h for the block to expire. Or log in from another IP and remove the block and/or allow list your IP (if not on 3CX hosting).
