We have been a Yealink shop for the past 5 years. I started looking at the Fanvil line of phones a week ago for a new project. Curious if anyone would like to share their views on the two brands? Nothing specific that I'm looking for. Yealink has worked well for us with few problems. Fanvil - being the "preferred" phone of 3CX makes me want to try out that brand. Share your thoughts on the pros and cons of each if you'd like. Thanks.

Fantastic price, phones seem physically sound, but the Dutch translations were a mess. That kept us with Yealink.

We have tried all brands and both are pretty good.

Fanvil does have a special relationship with 3CX so you get faster bug fixes and feature updates.

Yealink was, is and always will be, the best brand of IP phones. They just freaking work!

About the other brands:

- Snom is also a good choice for good looking reliable phones.
- Keep away from Grandstream.
- Polycom, the new models are much better than the old ones, but I haven't tried any of them.

We have a sizable Grandstream userbase. Never really had any problems with them, so very interested in your experiences! Maybe we missed something.

Grandstream has a lot of issues. You may just be lucky, but it also depends on the models.

GXP21xx : Really good and stable since it's been years since they launched.

GXP16xx : too old and slow, completely useless.

GXP17xx : freezes constantly on the Wi-Fi models.

GRP261x : Issues with provisioning, calling, firmware bugs and more.

Let's not talk about the unsupported devices lol DP75x, WP8xx, GXV33xx, etc.

Nothing really works as well as the other brands. It could, but GS takes forever to fix issues, specially with 3CX.

This is interesting. I have had none of these issues. I am struggling to see what could be causing your problems. I presume you are running the latest firmware?

I've been running Grandstream devices and 3CX for years.

Like I said, we had issues. Lucky you don't, but don't jinx it!

You need to ask Fanvil for this change, not 3CX. It's a config or a firmware fix that's needed and those are not managed by 3CX.
I thought 3CX writes/tweaks the configurations, I might owe 3CX an apology.

Nope, it's been stated many times in various threads about phone issues. The manufacturers make the firmware and create the templates and then sends it to 3CX. 3CX runs their test scenarios and either approves or kicks it back. Sometimes 3CX will push the manufacturers for a specific change but consistently the best approach has been to talk to the manufacturer directly to get things going on that side. If you get a ticket number or some other tracking number you might be able to get 3CX to 'encourage' them from that point.
