Caribbean Gas Finds Reliability in 3CX’s Innovative Communications Solution

Caribbean Gas is a relatively new company in the energy industry that is known for its innovative and environmentally friendly standards. However it settled on an inefficient, outdated phone system while the plant was still under construction. Now that the plant is established, Caribbean Gas opted for a solution which could provide all the features necessary to work efficiently on a day to day basis.

The Challenge

Caribbean Gas was using a hosted PBX service from a local telco provider which presented a number of issues for employees. Provisioning of phones was extremely problematic and the company found issues with their ability to connect to the cloud voice system. They also had issues with the system freezing, and with call quality, having calls often dropping off unexpectedly.

I.T. Systems Administrator, Sean Nash, was tasked with finding a replacement communications solution that would be the company’s permanent fixture once the plant was up and running.

Enterprise Level Communications for a Fraction of the Cost

Nash briefly considered Avaya®* phone system, but after recommendations from both the 3CX reseller ArkiTechs, as well as an employee that had previously used 3CX, he found 3CX to be better in terms of features, cost and specifications.

3CX Platinum Partner ArkiTechs provided Caribbean Gas with a 64SC Enterprise License and carried out the deployment quickly and painlessly at the company’s new plant. Their new phone system works seamlessly with their 135 IP phones, 8 conference phones, 10 Flow SIP lines, and Patton VoIP gateways. As 3CX is an open standards software solution, they were able to easily deploy the phone system with their choice of devices and SIP trunk.

“The features, functionality, flexibility and reliability that 3CX has provided is second to none. We have addressed all of the technical issues we faced with our previous system and we are also saving significantly on telco costs.”

The Results

As well as noting the cost savings that 3CX has brought about, the new communications solution was able to solve the provisioning and reliability issues that Caribbean Gas faced with their previous PBX. What’s more, they also experienced an increase in staff productivity and mobility, and found that employees were able to quickly adapt to the user-friendly interface.
