Hi,

We are currently using the Microsoft 365 / Azure AD integration to synchronize AD groups for user creation, which works well.
However, in many environments not all AD users should be created as 3CX users.
Still, it would be extremely useful to have certain Microsoft 365 AD user groups synchronized to the Company Phonebook, even if those users are not actual 3CX extensions.

At this moment, the only supported option seems to be:
  • Synchronizing Shared Mailbox contacts into the Company Phonebook
This has some limitations:
  • It requires manual maintenance or extra automation
  • AD group membership is often already the single source of truth
Question:
Is it currently possible (or on the roadmap) to sync Microsoft 365 AD user groups directly to the 3CX Company Phonebook, without creating those users as extensions?

Following, we have a client that wants this

We would love the ability to sync a shared mailbox or actual mailbox contacts to a department address book. This would make life so much easier for companies trying to keep a unified list across platforms

In theory, it should be possible to write some "middleware" that does this; it would need to talk to your AD via some API (or possibly LDAP), and to the 3CX XAPI, using the /Contacts endpoints.
