New AI Features and Extension Fair Usage

I'm going to close this thread now. Let's have partner based discussions in the dedicated partner forum. I believe most licensing questions have now been answered....

We are in the high extension, low usage category. We are/were in the process of planning a migration of our remaining phone servers to 3CX which would take us, most likely, from the 32 to 64 SC Enterprise license. Under this new paradigm we would have to increase to 512 SC. We have contacted our 3CX partner but my guess is there won't be anything we/they can do. Isn't $4250 > $0? I'm confused/disappointed by this change.

A high availability system with 3500+ devices / extensions and probably thousands of calls per week and you expect it to cost $4250 per year? Also why go for enterprise if its low usage, you can get the pro at $3000.

I am afraid it cost more at 3CX. You can move to a cheaper solution, your SIP trunks, Sip hardware its all open standard and some solutions even import the 3CX backup file. Thank you for your interest in 3CX.

Let's talk real numbers here.

Reading through these threads, I'm seeing a pattern: Partners and clients expecting enterprise-grade infrastructure at hobby project pricing.

Let's clear something up about "proper capacity planning"

We've been deploying 3CX systems following the 1:3 ratio (1 SC : 3 Extensions) for years. That's not guesswork - that's business architecture planning based on 3CX's own best practice recommendations.

Every single deployment we've delivered follows this model. Conservative, professional, properly scoped.

Our take as Titan Partner:

Yes, this changes the economics.
  • No more "race to the bottom" pricing wars
  • No more partners selling on price alone
  • No more clients expecting Lamborghini infrastructure at Fiat prices
To 3CX:

We see what you're doing. You're eliminating bottom-feeders and rewarding partners who sell value. We're in.

David

Thank you for the heads-up @XCON1 ! Although I like Fiat :)

Hi,

Microsoft 365 does not need to create additional users for SSO. The user sync feature simply matches existing 3CX users whose email addresses correspond to their Microsoft 365 accounts, ensuring seamless single sign-on without duplication.
Hi Charles, thanks for the reply. Is there a way to prevent the M365 sync from creating additional 3CX users? I explain in more details what I experience in this post:

Thanks again,

Hello everyone,

We would like to take a moment to clarify our previous message and express our apologies if its wording came across as inappropriate. Our only aim was to ensure the best interests of our customers and obtain accurate information — never to question 3CX or its dedication to partners and compliance standards.

Over the years, our collaboration with 3CX has been a cornerstone of our success in Belgium. The platform’s reliability, flexibility, and innovative approach have enabled us to deliver outstanding communication solutions and support hundreds of businesses in their daily operations.

We highly value the trust and partnership we have built with 3CX and remain committed to working together in a spirit of transparency, professionalism, and mutual respect.

A sincere thank you to the 3CX team for their continued collaboration and support.

@Jullienst Thank you for the heads up Jullien

This seals the deal for us transitioning to another solution. We have over 200 extensions but only have 10 sip trunks from our VOIP provider and our utilization averages less than 2 simultaneous calls.
I can only speak for the german area, there are no cheaper solutions with the same features.

Maybe with all this extra money 3cx can figure out how to put a key system button on a phone so an admin assistant can answer their bosses calls. Their should be a much greater user number per sim license if those users are hospitality guest rooms.

This is not good for a public school district. We have many phone extensions in school classrooms that are almost never used but are wanted for emergency and safety purposes. Our small district has a small budget. We have loved 3CX but this is now going to be a 4 times increase in price! But we won't be getting any more use out of it. Our maximum simultaneous calls is already probably 4 times what our usually daily max is, but we didn't mind paying that.

There's an educational discount.

It's possibly still the cheapest quality system you can buy for a school even with this change. The school I helped chose to renew for 3 years to get the 30% discount plus still getting their 20% school discount. Only thing "cheaper" would be roll your own but that just costs time.

This have your reseller make sure they're getting this for you. It does help.

We're probably considered a medium sized K-12 district where we are are located. I know it doesn't help any but 3CX is still the best phone system out there for school district and is quite affordable for what it does. Short of this your looking at open source things which add more management time to your plate. We recently came from a Mitel system where we had a fraction of the phones we have now, because we didn't have them in every classroom at the time. I've added phones to every classroom and expanded a lot since moving to 3CX and our renewal is still cheaper than Mitel and other systems on the market.

That is true. Looking at the new quote for a 64SC....it's still much better than systems other school districts around us are paying, and it's been working great for us.

@Lloyd M You can also pitch the fact that all of those phones have the ability to make or receive calls/pages/intercom when needed, and there is some value to that.
