Hello,

Starting today, I've noticed that the Whiteboard and PDF Sharing features are no longer available in 3CX WebMeeting.

These features were available and working previously, but they have suddenly disappeared from the meeting interface. I have checked multiple meetings and users, and the behavior appears to be consistent.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue today?

Could the 3CX team please confirm whether:

  • This is a known issue.
  • The features have been temporarily disabled.
  • They have been removed as part of a recent update.
  • There is any workaround or alternative available.
The Whiteboard and PDF sharing capabilities were very useful for presentations and collaboration, so any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Best regards,
Giuseppe Ravasio

Ciao Caro Giuseppe,

Thank you for your feedback.

Yes, the Whiteboard and PDF Sharing features were removed. The underlying whiteboard technology had become outdated and could no longer be maintained or updated reliably.

As part of modernizing the WebMeeting experience, we sometimes need to retire older components rather than continue supporting technology that no longer meets current standards.

For whiteboarding, you can use a free modern tool such as Excalidraw: https://excalidraw.com/ and share it through screen sharing.

PDF files can also be opened locally and presented using the existing screen-sharing feature.

We understand that these features were useful, but the same workflows can still be achieved using more modern and actively maintained tools.

Thanks so much

Hello Nikola,

Thank you for the clarification. I understand the reasons behind retiring outdated technology and I appreciate the need to modernize the WebMeeting platform.

My main concern is not the removal itself, but the lack of prior communication. Features such as Whiteboard and PDF Sharing were actively used by our users, and their sudden disappearance caused confusion and generated support requests on our side.

When functionalities are planned for removal, it would be very helpful for customers and partners to receive advance notice through release notes, product announcements, or in-product notifications. This would allow us to inform users in advance and prepare alternative workflows instead of discovering the change only after users report missing features.

I believe this would significantly improve the customer experience and reduce frustration caused by unexpected feature removals.

Thank you for taking the feedback into consideration.

Best regards,

Giuseppe Ravasio
