Hello everyone,
I need some clarification regarding licensing, as I believe my reseller is giving me incorrect (?) information.
We currently have an active deployment running on an older
annual basic license where
5 physical IP phones (fully supported models) are configured and working perfectly. We have
6 extensions in total and we never exceed
4 simultaneous calls (4 SC).
Since we need to renew, our actual requirements are:
- 6 extensions in total (well within the 10-extension limit).
- 5 physical IP phones connected.
- Maximum 4 simultaneous calls (4 SC) needed.
My reseller wants to sell us a
3CX Phone System Basic 8 SC (Paid) license. They claim that the
3CX Phone System Basic 4 SC (Paid) license does
not allow the connection of physical desktop IP phones at all, and that we would be forced to use only mobile apps or web clients unless we upgrade to the 8 SC tier.
My understanding is that the restriction on IP phones only applies to the
FREE edition, and that any paid/commercial subscription (including the Basic 4 SC) fully supports provisioning and registering physical IP phones.
Since our 5 IP phones are already configured and working fine on our current basic self hosted setup, could someone from 3CX or a partner confirm if we can seamlessly apply a paid
3CX Basic 4 SC license without losing our physical IP phones?
Thank you in advance for your help!
