Problem:
Today, when you configure a BLF / speed-dial key, there is no option at all to assign a Department (Group) to it. You can only pick a single extension or a Ring Group. On top of that, on Yealink desk phones (for example the T54W) a BLF key that points to a Ring Group does not even light the selector/presence LED: it shows the label but never reflects the busy/online status of the group. So to get a working per-department presence LED, admins are forced to use per-extension BLF keys and to build parallel Ring Groups that mirror the Department structure. That is duplicated and error-prone across multi-site deployments.
Request:
Add the option to assign a BLF key to a Department (Group), with aggregated presence: if any member of the Department is registered and online or busy, the LED lights up exactly as a single-extension BLF does. BLF membership should follow the Department automatically (add or remove a user and the key updates), with no shadow Ring Group needed.
Real use case:
A 7-branch optician runs one Department per shop. To give each shop's phones a working "is the counter busy?" LED we currently have to build duplicate Ring Groups, and the Ring Group BLF still does not light the LED on the T54W, so it does not even solve the need.
Benefit:
One correct, self-updating BLF and presence source per Department, with a working LED and no duplicate configuration.
