We are currently testing an upgrade from 3CX Version 20.0 Update 6 (Build 724 Release) to Version 20.0 Update 9 (Build 995 Release - AI 1.4.48).
After completing the upgrade, we noticed a change in the Voice & Chat → Gateway configuration.
Before the upgrade, the gateway configuration displayed the trunk/gateway details, including the configured trunk information.
After upgrading to Update 9, the gateway information is now showing:
Information: Built-in Template: generic.gw.xml
The previous trunk number details are no longer displayed in the gateway configuration page.
Example:
Gateway Name: Members-3248845545
DID: 3248845545
Information: Built-in Template: generic.gw.xml
Could you please confirm:
Is this an expected change in 3CX V20 Update 9?
Do we need to migrate/recreate the existing gateway configurations manually?
Is there any updated gateway template required for existing Patton gateways?
Will the existing SIP settings, routing, and gateway parameters continue to work with the generic.gw.xml template?
We are using Patton gateways with SIP trunks and would like to confirm the recommended approach before proceeding with the production upgrade.
