  1. 3CX down hard - 18.0 Update 8 Build 912

Storage is fine. Yes, it can always be restored from backup; just seeing if it may be something simple before doing it.
  2. 3CX down hard - 18.0 Update 8 Build 912

    Yes - daily backups.
  3. 3CX down hard - 18.0 Update 8 Build 912

We lost power in the building and exceeded UPS time. The 3CX is a virtual machien in ESX / Linux. It went down hard. Upon coming up, the 3CX Gateay Servic eand 3CX PhoneSystem 01 Management Console are stopped and will not start. I did another clean boot with the same thing. Any thoughts...
  4. Cannot provision C520 Wimi

I have updated the firmware here: https://www.3cx.com/docs/phone-firmwares/ 18.0 Update 7 - build 312 When creating the phone in users phone provisioning Snom C520 with mac. Use the provisioning link and put in the c520 web page. Phone will never register. I can register other ip phones...
  5. PIN Protect

Thanks for the reply. This all makes sense and works as designed. Ken
  6. PIN Protect

I've been doing some searching and reading on restricted long distance calling and I seem to be missing a few pieces. We're running V18 – latest FYI. I believe there are two ways of doing this: 1 - create an outbound rule with includes a prefix (secret pin) and when it matches dialing for a...
  7. One iphone will not receive incoming calls

I have a shipping phone setup so that when a delivery call box is used, it calls the shipping extension. That extension also has a couple of iphones on it for people to respond when a delivery is made. Both iphones have 3cx installed. One iphone receives the inbound call, the other does not...
  8. 3CX for visitor/lobby

Sort of... So basically just put a ipad in a locking stand and run the 3CX client on it and visitors can just click/call whoever they are trying to meet/greet?
  9. 3CX for visitor/lobby

Has anyone invented a way to use a tablet for a visitor to tie into 3CX for announcing visitors? Ken
  10. 3CX Faxing

Once you select a DID and use in bound rules to 'send fax to xxxx', it can not be used for voice. It is one or the other.
  11. 3CX Faxing

So once an extension is setup as a DID with fax forwarding to email that extension can no longer be used for voice correct? At least that is what I found in my testing. If you call it from outside or inside the pbx a fax machine answers. I currently have an Avaya tied to a 3CX via sip trunk...
  12. 3CX Faxing

From what I can read, when someone sets up faxing on 3CX there can only be one incoming extension (888)? So what happens if you have 500 DID extensions and you want more than one assigned fax extension to receive outside incoming faxes and send to unique email address for a particular...
  13. Solved 3CX Avaya provisioning

I also saw that in the linked instructions it referrs to provisioning the extension in avaya to where the extension and 'authentication' must match, but it seems in 16.x that it will no longer allow this as it requires to be more digits in authentication than what the extension is (4 digits)...
  14. Solved 3CX Avaya provisioning

Thanks for your responses. I did extract the files into the /provisioning/xxxxxx folder. From everything I read the 'xxxxxx' folder was referred to as 'secure folder'. Maybe it was my bad interpretation of the doc's. This is on 16.x. I suppose that could make a difference. Never thought...
  15. Solved 3CX Avaya provisioning

I'm playing with a test 3cx PBX and have it mostly working; just trying to see if it will meet our needs. We have a bunch of Avaya 9611G phones that we want to reuse. I have followed the directions on here: https://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/avaya-ip-phone-provisioning/ When the phone reboots and...
  16. Linux OS and app security

    Thanks for all replies.
  17. Linux OS and app security

Is the Debian OS hardened or is that the responsibility of the customer? Is the OS updated with patches from 3CX or is it up to the customer to update and maintain the Debian OS? Are there any known vulnerabilities of the 3CX PBX application itself?
  18. Linux OS and app security

Does the Linux OS and application go through some sort of third party or internal security testing validation to ensure that it is hardened and validated to prevent exploitation? This would be more than the published firewall and documented settings. Thanks, Ken
