Hello,

We have the following situation and need your help: our customers wants failover with new version v15. We're trying it on a lab with 3cx FQDN (he has not got Domain Controller and DNS server) but seems it is NOT possible configuring failover with FQDN provided by 3cx (for example, labtest1.3cx.eu) because there isn't split DNS.

Is it possible this scenario? (failover with 3cx FQDN)

Regards,

It is possible if you select the option i have a DNS and configure 3CX FQDN as split DNS. But you will need to have your own DNS server where you can create the A record pointing to the 3CX FQDN to the internal ip of the PBX.
Also note that the two servers should be behind the same public IP as per the following article

Thanks for your reply but we've tested and it doesn't work. This message appears when try to configure failover:

"Can't Configure Failover
To configure Failover you need to install 3CX Phone System in Split DNS mode.
Reinstall 3CX Phone System and in the installation mode dialog select this option
Single FQDN - Might require Split DNS or dedicated Domain"

I'm not sure if we've configured correctly the DNS server. If we have the site provided by 3cx (labtest1.3cx.eu) and our customer domain is "company.org", we need to create a new zone (3cx.eu) and create an "A RECORD" pointing "labtest1.3cx.eu" to the IP address of the 3cx pbx. So the internal FQDN is the same, "labtest1.3cx.eu". Is that correct?

Regards,

Solved, it was a problem with the DNS server, one mistake with the zone, we created that with the same name as 3cx public domain assigned during installation and it resolved the problem.

Thanks!!!
