Hello Everybody,

I am facing one issue recently I brought 2 SIP connections from the Same ISP. The issue is their SIP server is the same address for both Trunks. I already defined the Static route in our firewall to reach the sip server from Gateway-Sip1 which is Trunk-1. But every time I have to switch the route for Trunk2 to use Gateway-SIP2. For instance, details are mentioned below.

SIP1
WAN1 IP: 10.170.X.238/30
GW: 10.170.X.237
DID-DOD: 5785690-98

SIP2
WAN2 IP: 10.150.X.210
GW2: 10.150.X.209
DID-DOD: 5785680-89

SIP Server IP: 10.138.120.249/32

10.120.140.230 via GW1: 10.170.X.237
10.120.140.230 via GW2: 10.150.X.209 I can't add a duplicate route in the firewall to the same SIP server.

I hope you understand my concern and the issue, Please advise.

Is your SIP provider not able to give you two DIDs (or more) on one trunk?

each trunk has 10 DID numbers
the issue is routing because the firewall allows one static route to sip-server. If 3cx extensions are pointed to use Sip1 works fine but I have to manually change the route in the firewall to use Sip1 or Sip2. I hope you understand

Is this one 3CX server or two? If it's one 3CX server it seems much easier to use one trunk with 20 DID numbers. With two 3CX servers (and hence different LAN IPs), a router like pfSense for instance has a Policy Routing feature, to control routing by setting a gateway on a firewall rule.

It sounds like you're looking for voice traffic to use two different WAN connections based on the DID number called, is that right? Using two different SIP providers is probably the easiest way to handle that... Does the SIP provider have a backup IP/server that you can use for the second trunk?

Hello Steve,
Unfortunately, Sip Provider is the same for both Trunks. So far I know two 3cx servers could do this with routers Pfsense. currently, 3CX is running as a standalone server there is an option in the 3cx trunk option 'Put Public IP via Header' I put the WAN IP there for Both trunks and placed the rule in the router, if the source from Trunk1 uses GW1 vice versa. but no luck at all. I will check Policy Routing this I haven't tried yet.

It depends also on the call source identification. Check also those options
