Hi everyone,

I would like to ask if anyone has experience implementing a voice virtual agent with 3CX that can use external tools or skills.

The use case is the following:

Some of my customers, and also myself, would like to have a voice AI agent connected to 3CX. This agent should be able to interact with external systems, for example an ERP database, CRM, or other business applications.

The goal would be for the caller to speak with the virtual agent and for the agent to be able to perform actions such as:

- Querying customer information from an ERP or CRM
- Checking order or invoice status
- Creating or updating tickets
- Calling external APIs or tools
- Using custom business logic during the conversation

From what I have seen so far, the current 3CX voice/AI assistant options do not seem to allow this kind of “tool calling” or custom skills integration directly.

My questions are:

1. Is there any supported way in 3CX to connect a voice AI agent with external tools, APIs, or databases?
2. Has anyone implemented something similar using 3CX Call Flow Designer, Webhooks, REST APIs, SIP routing, or an external voice bot platform?
3. Would the recommended approach be to route calls from 3CX to an external SIP-based AI voice agent and then integrate that agent with the ERP/CRM?
4. Are there any known limitations or best practices for this kind of integration?

I am not looking only for a simple IVR or chatbot. The requirement is to develop a real conversational voice agent that can execute actions or retrieve data from external systems during the call.
I saw some posts talking about an MCP server but i dont know if it will be available soon.

Any guidance, examples, architecture suggestions, or third-party tools that work well with 3CX would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Wait for Update 10 and the next one.

MCP is coming, on both client and server side.

It's coming. Just give them some time.
