Hi

I have a vodacom Voip/SIp and have put the settings into the trunk and calls coming in work fine.
But when making calls get a 404 not found error.

Wondering if anyone else has used vodacom with 3cx and has come across this problem or how to fix it.

Using the server za.vodacom.com not sure if there is an alternate to vodacom for the outgoing calls server.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Jacques

Do you send your number when you dial out ? nothing ? or anything else not related to your provider ?

If you've checked the 3CX Activity Log, and confirmed that this is coming from your provider, then it may be that you are not sending numbers, in a format, that they expect. I would confirm this with them. They may (depending on level of customer service they provide) also be able to look at one of your calls, and tell you exactly what is wrong.

Hi

Thanks for the reply's. As far as I know it should only be sending the number when making a call. Which should be what it should be doing.

I tried checking with them today to tell me how it was going through to them but had problems getting the info.
Will check again in the next few days when I have the time to sit there as the support that answered was being difficult.

I am also leaning towards the number format but will have to confirm with them
Was just wondering if anyone had used them before with 3cx.

Also a weird thing about it is if I use the 3cx phone app it calls with out any problem.
So as I said I am leaning towards the number format etc....

Will be able to confirm in a few days with them.

Thanks

So... making a call with the App is OK, but making a call.... how... doesn't work?

I would be check the Activity Log and compare the two calls, especially digits sent.

Hi Jacquesvdl

I have a customer running a Vodacom sip acc that registers to a provider(Vodacom) with a user name and password. We set them up a couple of years back so cannot remember what we did but i can check on the trunk setup if need be. The best is to ask them why they are sending the 404 error to you. This will give you an idea where to look otherwise you will just be guessing.

Cheers

Hi

Thanks for the reply's.
As mentioned above I also thought it was something to do with the number etc... being sent to vodacom.
LOL I'm still waiting to hear back from vodacom why the number is being blocked haven't come back to me.

But I managed to get it working.
I changed the default values on the outgoing default program settings to leave as default under the outgoing on the sip trunk option and low and behold calls are going out now.

under the dashboard it looks like the right number was being sent but some info that was being sent with it was causing it to be blocked from the looks of it. If they ever come back to me I will see what info it was sending causing the block.
Otherwise I'll leave them as is, as it is working.

Thanks for the assist.

It may be that your provider blocks calls if an "unauthorized" caller ID is sent. This may explain why some devices worked while others did not. If that is the case, then going to the defaults probably sends the "main" number in the trunk settings.

Yeah I figured that, still waiting for them to send me the info about that but nothing so far.
Don't think I am going to get it as it was hard enough to ask them for the info, but it is working now.

Yeah I am also leaning toward it sending a invalid caller id.
Will play with it when I'm there again to see exactly which field is causing the problem.
