Hello,

My company is current evaluating 3CX as a possible replacement for our current PBX. We have around 90 users, maybe 120 if we expand to other sites. Just wanted to get some feedback from those who have deployed 3CX as to it's performance, ease-of-use, any "gotchas" that we should be aware of. Initially we will only deploy to a single site.

We have evaluated Cisco alternatives but they were cost prohibitive. On face value, 3CX seems to be a better valued solution. We have limited use of our phone system so are looking at the standard licensing.

We are looking to deploy 3CX with Yealink handsets, I have seen this used before but not sure of the quality vs Cisco - the price is certainly a lot less.

Any feedback on your experiences (especially any frustrations) would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

I would say 3CX is a fantastic solution for your business. 3CX offers the standard annual license free of charge for the first year. Why not download it and have a try with the Yealink phone?

3cx can not be beaten for the price/value. Yealink phones I would consider one of the better supported devices in terms of price and features.

We use 3cx in a school environment for staff and office workers. It is far cheaper and more flexible than our previous Aastra (Mitel) solution and paired with Yealink phones (T48S) gives a vast number of features. Also rock solid in terms of reliability.

Be prepared to "think outside the box" sometimes when deciding how (or if) you can best design your setup - you may need more dummy extensions than before to achieve the same thing.

The only 'gotcha' I've encountered is the android app - calling over wifi is great when it works, but my experience is that of missing or delayed notifications for incoming calls. This has gotten much much better with the v16 android app release (think it's still in beta at this point), so they are working on it.

Thanks for all of your replies so far, very useful information - especially regarding the android app.
