We have noticed that the 3cx changed some of there report ways.
Normally we could do 4 pins + numbers for example (12341744971518) then strip the 4 digits in front, the idea still works but when you do a call report, it does not show the stripped digits as it used to.

I also know you can use the billing code ** (1744971518**1234)
but how do I enforce it that the system only uses that feature in the outbound rules

Hi @AdriaanDuToit,

Can you walk me through how you've set up the trunk as well as which report you're running (call report I take it) and what you're seeing in the CallerID field?

the trunk are basically setup normally, under caller ID its just the office number, no patterns. under outbound rules we normally put the prefix as 1234 (pin) , call from ext , and strip 4 digit , and they could call out.

Then going to the call report, under from we selected number start with , so when you create the report it does not show the "pin" code anymore. normally with previous 3cx systems it was 12340128800001 when the report is pulled.

So I followed up on some reading that you can use billing code feature where you dial out as 0128800001**1234, not setting any prefixes in the outbound rules, but this means clients cal also call out with out using the billing code, so my problem is , is there a way that i can setup "pins" where the 3cx picks it up. because thats one thing the 3cx lags in, and its proper pin dial code feature , would have been nice like the yealink s100 where you call out on a number and the system requests a pin , there after adding the pin it lets you dial out. and that pin would lay in management. if this was sorted I believe there would not be necessary for 3rd party programs like man3000

Hi @AdriaanDuToit,

Can you screenshot a report and censor any sensitive data, so I can see what is appearing in the Destination field of the Call Report? I see the 1234 when setting up my outbound rule with a 4 digit strip.

so I did tried it from my office.
1st one it the call that is activated and on going
2nd one is a missed call , both were done

Im also going through my other servers and seeing if they are doing the same

Hi @AdriaanDuToit,

What you've screenshot is the expected behaviour. It has been this way in v16 and is this way now in v18.

yea.... noticed it as well when i check some of my other servers. but to come back to the point the second option is using the Billing code feature ** so in this yes the pin shows , however this means they can call with and without the ** . I am trying to force the system and client to use the ** , so how can I enforce calls made that is only uses the ** billing, and if the client call normally the call must not push through

Hi @AdriaanDuToit,

The billing codes mentioned above are meant to be used for reporting only. They cannot be enforced natively in 3CX. However what you could do is download your CDR log, load it up into excel or some such and then group the calls by the destination. In effect this will do the exact same thing without the need for a billing code. It will show you the destination and who called it.

Ok thank you, i will just stick to my other option of getting 3rd party software that can get the CDR pulled and relay it to there own billing platform.
