Solved 3CX Chat Filter issue From Portal

@3cx Team,

Please facilitate us with the complete chat data when it comes to exporting the file in excel while choosing the specific date.
From the filter option instead of showing chat as groups (Only Unique chat initiated) with fewer contents it must show complete Chat log of yesterday and selected dates.

This is actually how it works, if you filter a specific date range and then export, the .csv file will contain the whole chat data and not only the first line of the conversation.

I have just confirmed that this is the case for 3CX V18 U3.

Thanks for your prompt response.

We have updated our 3CX server to V18 U3 but still facing the same i.e. filter a specific date range and then export, the .csv file will contain only the first line of the conversation(Only new initiated chat) and not the whole chat data.

I just tested this on v18 U3 and it still seems to work fine. Filtered chat log to only show one chat conversation and then exported. The .csv file contains the whole conversation:



Is this not happening for your case, can you provide two screenshots as above to show what you see in 3CX MC and then in .csv file. Also, could you please provide the exact 3CX PBX version you're running? You can check this in "Dashboard >> Information >> Version".

Please find attached the required files

In the 1st picture you can see that the chat start date was Sep-21.
2nd Pics shows Today's Chat.
3rd Pictures shows the Filter from 3CX Portal to Export Today's chat.
4th Picture shows Filter result of Today's chat but not include all Today's chats .It only shows the chat of those extension who initiate chat 1st time today.
For Reference of Today's Filter chat log i have attached CSV File where today's all chat not showing but only New initiated chat shows.
Further privacy i hide the messages
3CX Server Version is also attached.

As per our PM conversation, we have confirmed that exporting the chat log after it has been filtered will in fact export the whole chat conversations as would be expected.

Regarding your question on why some chats seem to be missing when you filter by date, the answer is that the filter by dat for chat logs will only show chat conversations that actually started on that date. If a chat was already ongoing (open) and simply had some messages sent/received on that day it will not appear in the search results.

In our case our users send messages to each other daily and we required there daily complete chat logs (not the new initated) for monitoring purposes.

As your response

So what if all of our users already chat to each other after sometime and there is no new initiated chats left then this Filter will be useless? even if they are chatting daily

Maybe filtering by date will not be so useful in that case but filter has other options too.

If you must filter by date you could always just export to csv file and then filter that.

As this is actually expected behavior and not considered an issue I can't really say that there is something to fix. All I can recommend is that you check through our Ideas Section to see if anyone posted a similar feature request. If you can't find anything you could maybe ask another community member who has the appropriate rights to post this on your behalf.
