Good day,

we're having a problem with the browser extension.

Scenario, reproduced under Chrome newest version:

User is not connected to VPN, connects via the webclient. The extension is working as intended.
User then connects to the VPN. All incoming calls still ring, but the extension doesn't load as expected. The user can't accept or decline the call until the mailbox autoaccepts the call.

Workaround:
While in VPN, logging out and back into the 3CX webclient, the extension will load again without any issues. When the user ends the VPN connection, without relogging into the webclient, the extension also won't load properly.

What we tried:
Editing the hosts file to the external IP address of the 3CX server without success.

Did anyone else encounter this problem and knows how to resolve the issue?

Kind regards,

Andreas

Hey all,

after some testing, it seems like this problem only occurs on macOS Chrome. The browser or the extension doesn't notice the change of connection. The only "fix" is to use the "Reload Extension" button.

However, if you recognize this problem too late, the call gets dropped while reloading the extension. Under Windows Chrome the Webclient is checking for an active connection. If the connection is interrupted, it will close the extenstion automatically and reload it when the Webclient is connected to the new network.

Kind regards
Andreas

Hi,

If you are a VPN user, it is best practice to load your VPN connection before you launch any apps.

Some VPN clients cut the connection to the internet entirely unless they are connected first (to avoid such problems), but not all.

In this case yes, your only solution is to reload everything after you manually connect to the VPN to ensure everything works.
