I want to be able to add 3CX data (chats, transcriptions, CDRs, recordings, voicemails, etc.) as input sources in the various AIs. I believe ChatGPT calls them Apps, while CoPilot calls them Connectors.

Hi @Mike Hammett
Thanks for your question.
An easy way would be to make a script that dumps everything to google drive and then point chatGPT to connect to google drive.
You need to see which is the best App available.

Do you want to make a GPT that can answer using knowledge from chats, transcriptions and cdr's? You can also create an assistant in openAI Dashboard API and connect a vector storage. But you would still need to upload everything to openAI.

I'm looking for the data in those 3CX data sources to be available to appropriate users for use in whatever AI prompts they're running.

Right now if I were to say "Show me areas where Billy is needing help," it would only check my email and Sharepoint communications. It wouldn't check the extensive 3CX chat we have. From my understanding, Teams chats can be used in this way, so I'm trying to replicate that in a 3CX environment.

Will we see this expand beyond CDRs into chats, SMSes, transcriptions, etc.?

Hi @Mike Hammett,
Absolutely. One company that strongly inspires us is Google, particularly in how they progressively embed AI into existing verticals rather than treating it as a separate product.

Examples include AI Mode in Search, AI Camera, Chrome Auto Browse, Nano Banana, Workspace smart replies and inbox cleanup, AI video summaries, Gemini in Google Maps, Antigravity agent development tools, Veo, and more.

Even for Google, and their unlimited resources, this evolution took time.

We are following the same philosophy at 3CX – continuously and deliberately integrating AI where it delivers real value. Our teams are working around the clock, and yes, Chats and SMS transcripts are coming in Update 10, with more to follow.

Subscribe and stay tuned for upcoming updates.

Yes definitely. Good point..

While Microsoft markets this as the "Copilot Connector for Microsoft 365," the engine under the hood is actually MCP (Model Context Protocol). This is the new industry standard that allows AI models to communicate with data sources and tools using a universal, "plug-and-play" format. It's the same logic that allows ChatGPT to bridge into HubSpot, Google Drive, or Gmail.

We are already building on this trend. MCP functionality is already live within 3CX - but currently it is designed to serve the 3CX API.

So the plan is first to serve the 3CX API and the functions we need.
Then, once 3CX is fully served, we will expand the 3CX environment with "outside" knowledge from other platforms (e.g CRM, Cloud storage etc) connected via the same MCP standard.

Microsoft uses the "Connector" branding (to avoid using the term MCP thus giving credit to Anthropic) ;)
What you are looking for is MCP support. It will come..

Thanks so much and have a great month ahead!

Just found this post, this will be awesome!

My AI usage has dramatically improved, and I've built a variety of MCPs for things, including 3CX, but of course, it's riddled with timeouts and such, given that it doesn't have the competence and familiarity of a first-party setup. I thought I'd check in to see how far along this is.

@Mike Hammett
Our AI usage has dramatically improved too
Bear with us... coming soon
