Yes definitely. Good point..
While Microsoft markets this as the "Copilot Connector for Microsoft 365," the engine under the hood is actually MCP (Model Context Protocol). This is the new industry standard that allows AI models to communicate with data sources and tools using a universal, "plug-and-play" format. It's the same logic that allows ChatGPT to bridge into HubSpot, Google Drive, or Gmail.
We are already building on this trend. MCP functionality is already live within 3CX - but currently it is designed to serve the 3CX API.
So the plan is first to serve the 3CX API and the functions we need.
Then, once 3CX is fully served, we will expand the 3CX environment with "outside" knowledge from other platforms (e.g CRM, Cloud storage etc) connected via the same MCP standard.
Microsoft uses the "Connector" branding (to avoid using the term MCP thus giving credit to Anthropic)
What you are looking for is MCP support. It will come..
Thanks so much and have a great month ahead!
