We are seeing an error that our license has expired, however, in the client portal the license is valid until 2024, the 3CX install states 2023, when attempting to refresh the license we are getting an error back 3CX failed to establish a TCP connection to activate.3cx.com.
Ensure that the local or border firewalls are configured to allow outbound traffic to activate.3cx.com

Please note that your system is only on version v18 update 3, which is unable to activate due to the certificate changes on the activation server on the 30th of November 2022, and as per multiple emails and blog posts, which will now not allow any version below version 18 update 5 to activate.

As such, it is required to update any systems below version 18 and update 5 to the latest version U7, using the method below.

We can see in your case that the OS of the system is installed on Linux, so the process to update is as follows:

  • Take a backup of the current system and save the backup to a safe location
  • Switch off the current machine hosting the 3CX system
  • Download the latest 3CX ISO from portal.3cx.com > downloads section
  • Deploy to a new machine using the latest 3CX ISO and restore the backup.
Once this has been done, the system will be on the latest version and should have no trouble activating.

Thank you for the quick response and assistance.
