3cx & Grandstream

Hi,

We have 3cx installed in our office with PRI lines configured with Patton gateway. Everything works fine in this office. We have SIP lines installed in a remote location terminated on Grandstream UCM 6204. Site to site VPN has been configured and is able to access the grandstream UCM on the remote location. I need the SIP lines in the remote location to be configured in 3cx.
Can someone help with a work around

Configure the Patton and SIP trunk in 3CX? If it's all reachable via VPN, the config is already in 3CX for Pattons and many many SIP providers.

Hi,

Patton is already configured with ISDN30 in the office. The SIP lines are in the remote location. These SIP lines are termintaed on Grandstream gateway. The grandstream device is accessible from my local office where 3cx is installed. I would like to configure the 3cx with these SIP lines in the remote location

If there is a VPN connection in place and you can see the gateway as a local device to the PBX then you can set it up as a normal gateway like you did with the Patton. Unfortunately the gateway you are using is not supported by 3CX so you will need to do the configuration manually to add it to the PBX

I had created a bridge between 3cx and grandstream and is UP with prefix 7. I created an outbound rule in 3cx with prefix and trunk as the bridge created. This should take things upto grandstream.
In the grandstream i created the bridge with VOIP trunk register SIP option with the Bridge ID & password. As told earlier the bridge is UP. another sip trunk has been created for the sip service provider. I created an outbound route with a pattern which which use the providers sip trunk to call outside.
But I tried calling from 3cx extension using prefix 7. I receive an error not found.
Is there something i am missing. Could you offer any help

Have you created an inbound rule on the Grandstream? You need one, you can set it as "By DID" and strip 1 to remove the prefix.

From there, you'll obviously need your outbound rules on both, and then good luck with Caller ID stuff. That's a PITA.

Outbound had been created from 3cx for the bridge. from grandstream outbound has been created with a pattern and trunk as the sip provider. inbound for grandstream sip proviedr trunk has been set to to an external number 200 & for bridge trunk i had setup to By DID as specified by you.
Still the same result. Sorry, I am new with SIP lines

Does the trunk show as registered at both ends?

Is the 3CX Activity Log any help in determining that the outbound rules are sending the call (correct digits) to the Bridge trunk? If so, is it being rejected? If so,is there a log on the Grandstream, to see if it "knows" what to do with the call, or to determine if there is a parameter, that is not correct.

Yes trunk shows registered on both sides. But the call doesnt reach from 3cx extension to grandstream.

As I said, you need an inbound rule set as "By DID" on the UCM side.

Then, to make more tests, edit your trunk, under Advanced, change the "DID Mode" to "From Header" (instead of Request-Line.) This should help.

tried setting the inbound from 3cx destination as By DID and strip 1 & change the "DID Mode" to "From Header"
but nothing worked

Also I had got another issue. I had a pattern to match the incoming & outgoing route, something like _200X.
and gave strip as 2
When i call its says number is incorrect and CDR shows the complete number is dialled without stripping.
Any idea why the numbers are not stripped

I had done the below configuration but is still not working

1. Configured incoming route with pilot number for ISP SIP trunk which will land to external number 500

I receive call cannot be completed message

So, by peer sip trunk, you mean a bridge trunk, or...?

Not having used the Grandsteam, I don't know if this is a limitation of that device. It would have to be capable of routing incoming calls back out on a trunk. How that is done (forwarding?), is going to depend on what Grandstream allows. I'm guessing that the trunk to 3CX, in the Grandstream, would normally be provisioned to a provider. If that is the case, and it was not designed to route to another PBX, your options, may be limited.

I'll be perfectly honest here. We never got it to work correctly, either via SIP trunks or bridges. Calling usually works but routing is a PITA and Caller ID NEVER works.

The UCM isn't made for this. It is not a gateway or a SBC. It is a PBX.

But then, if those are SIP lines, why the heck are you trying to use the UCM? Just set the trunk in 3CX directly.

Otherwise, no one here can help any further since we all gave up when trying to do this. It's not worth the time and efforts.
