So in the install documentation it states you need the SBC if you want to use IP phones with the 3CX hosted deployment but i've just gone ahead and deployed a 3CX Hosted install and then auto provisioned some Yealink IP phones just using the hosted Install URL and it seems to deploy the phones just fine?

What would be the issue with not using the SBC and deploying IP phones the way i've done here?

Hi, what is the provisioning method you are using on the Extension >> Phone Provisioning >> Provisioning Method ?
Most probably this will be Local LAN. Since these extensions are remote, then as you can understand if there is no SBC, this is a) not supported since the extension is remote, b) we do not guarantee that these phones will operate properly and be stable.

@mooseman

we will not deliver support for ip-phones been connected to the hosted instance without an SBC! Technical it could work to use stun given that your network firewalls play along...

Overall is the question if you need the devices after all and the management of them (with or without the SBC). Our Apps (Mobile, Windows, Browser) are feature-rich, simple to maintain and updated by 3CX.
