Originally we hosted our 3CX instance ourselves, but after a ton of research and speaking with 3CX directly, multiple times in the past, we were under the impression that having 3CX host it for us would actually be cheaper and more reliable. So we moved our instance from our host to 3CX. Worked great until our 1st year was up.
So my free, 1 year 3CX hosting has ended, which was expected. What i didn't expect is not being able to pay for Hosting with the 3CX free edition. It looks like it is requiring us to upgrade our subscription to Standard, Professional, or Enterprise in order for 3cx to even host it...
This would mean our initial thoughts on 3CX hosting being the better route is incorrect. If upgrading to standard and paying for hosting, the cost would be more expensive than hosting it ourselves. This is not what was initially told to us. We were told we could use the free version and just pay the hosting costs once our year is up. If this is true then we will be moving our instance back to self hosted. This could be user error but i am yet still confused...
When i click on renew i get this:
"You are not required to renew the free 3CX Standard edition, it will be renewed automatically. You may however upgrade your subscription’s edition or sim call capacity. For evaluation purposes, ask a 3CX partner in your area to temporarily upgrade your subscription for free."
When i click upgrade i get this:
"Hosting by 3CX has expired for your subscription! Upgrade your subscription and add the hosting package to your free 3CX Standard subscription. You can also upgrade in the same process to a higher Edition (PRO/Enterprise) to unlock more features."
I was under the impression that i could still use my free edition of 3CX and pay 3CX for the hosting of it. Is this not true?
